Our Caterpillar Room provides a warm, nurturing environment specially designed for babies and young toddlers.

 

Purpose-built for our youngest children, the room features underfloor heating, air conditioning, dedicated activity spaces, a separate sleep room, a dedicated changing area, and direct access to our secure outdoor play areas designed specifically for babies and young children. Children benefit from spacious, age-appropriate surroundings that exceed national space requirements.

 

Our experienced practitioners are specially trained in baby care and support each child’s individual routines, including feeding, sleeping, and development. We regularly exceed EYFS staffing requirements, allowing our team to provide more individual attention, responsiveness, and continuity of care.

 

We support each child’s individual feeding routine. Children aged 12 months and over enjoy nutritious nursery-provided meals and snacks throughout the day, while younger babies continue with food and milk supplied by parents.

 

Throughout the day, children enjoy a wide range of sensory, creative, physical, and exploratory activities designed to support their learning and development through play.

 

We understand that starting nursery is a significant milestone for both children and parents. To help make the transition as smooth as possible, we offer up to two complimentary settling-in sessions. These sessions help children become familiar with their new environment and key staff, while giving parents the opportunity to ask questions and build confidence in their child’s nursery experience.

 

We believe children thrive when parents and nursery staff work in partnership. We maintain regular communication and developmental updates, and hold a review meeting approximately one month after a child starts nursery to discuss how they are settling in. Further meetings take place as needed to ensure we continue to provide the best possible support for each child’s individual needs and development.
